TRACK DISCLAIMER

Riders must acknowledge the following:

  • They are solely responsible for any decision as to their fitness to participate in testing
  • They are a competent cyclist
  • They are not suffering from any medical condition or disability which is likely to adversely affect normal control of an electric bicycle or might make it unsafe for them to participate in any bicycle testing
  • Their eyesight is up to the standard required for a road driving test
  • They are not under the influence of alcohol or any legal or non-legal substances that may impair my judgment or ability to cycle safely
  • Riders acknowledge that cycling can be dangerous and acknowledge the risks involved and that the organisers of the event have taken all reasonably practical steps to minimize risk
  • Riders acknowledge that they have a duty of care to other users of the tracks and organising staff and will not behave in a manner that could endanger them
  • Riders acknowledge that they will be riding a bicycle owned by a third party and they could be held responsible for the payment of any damage caused to the bike or other equipment because of wilfully dangerous cycling or negligence on their behalf.

DEMO VILLAGE & TRACK RULES

  • You are required to show one form of government-issued photo ID to ride. Only physical copies will be accepted
  • You will have access to the Demo Village for a set time only
  • Under 16s are unable to ride or enter the Demo Village
  • Riders must be over the age of 16. Riders aged 16-17 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21 on a ratio of 1:1.
  • Riders must hold a Cycle Show  entry ticket for the same day as the test track.
  • Both riders must have valid entry tickets and track tickets 
  • Riders are recommended to arrive at the Demo Village at least 5 minutes before the allocated session time
  • It is the requirement of the organisers that riders use a helmet while riding at all times. A limited number of helmets will be available to borrow during your sessions, however riders are encouraged to bring their own
  • Riders acknowledge they will be riding a bike with which they may not be fully familiar and as such will exercise additional care and caution while riding
  • Riders should not undertake any manoeuvre which is beyond their level of skill or use excessive speed on any part of the track
  • Riders agree to follow all signage for the test track and abide by the instructions of the stewards organising staff at all times
  • You will follow the route that is appropriate for the bike you are on
  • You will be considerate of all other riders and have an awareness of mixed skill ability
  • You will take the upmost care and consideration of your speed around others, in particular on an ebike
  • Any demo riders who the organisers believe are acting in an unsafe way while using the tracks will be asked to leave the session immediately
