THE UK'S FIRST DEDICATED EBIKE DEMO WEEKEND
The first-ever eBike Demo Weekend at Alexandra Palace proved to be a great success and very popular with both bike brands and the bike-riding public. With over 100 eBikes available to ride on the tarmac track from traditional town bikes ideal for leisure rides, through to sporty folding options for commuters, plus a selection of MTB and gravel bikes and a trail through the woodland to try them out on. The event attracted over 1800 eager riders over two days and younger riders also got a chance to ride a bike too courtesy of Squish Bikes on their own alongside the Demo Village.
ABOUT EBIKE DEMO WEEKEND
- Demo sessions are free for the public, but riders are asked to register online before the day.
- Riders can guarantee their ride and time slot for just £5, meaning that you can secure your ride time and entry
- Each session lasts 40 minutes so the you get a chance to properly try a selection of bikes across two tracks (tarmac and a woodland trail)
You can ride as many times as you like during each session, but bikes will be subject to availability due to re-charging and not all models will be available in every size. Helmets will be available to borrow on the day, but we do recommend you bring your own one.
Alexandra Palace offers great terrain to test-ride bikes with those famous inclines to ride up and give you a proper sense of the benefits of the various drive systems available.
The eBike Demo Village is located within the parkland of Alexandra Palace. The entrance to the Demo Village is off South Terrace, follow directions to the Ice Rink. Turn at the roundabout off South Terrace into the Ice Rink car park. The pavilion car park is then located via a right-hand turn which will be clearly marked as the entrance to the Drive In. Look out for our staff who will be checking tickets and guiding you towards our parking marshals.
The track area is fenced off so only cyclists are allowed and the numbers on the demo tracks will be limited for each session.
Parking / Public Transport / Food and Drinks
There is parking available adjacent to the Demo Village at only £3 for a whole a day.
It’s just five minutes walk from Alexandra Palace station to the park and buses stop on the hill directly opposite the Demo Village.
There will be an Airstream coffee unit and a Greek street food concession located in the Demo Village and there are plenty of other places in the park to have a drink and bite to eat. Ally Pally is also a great picnic location so once you’ve finished riding you can make a day of it and enjoy the park and those amazing views of London.
