Cytronex will be showcasing the Cytronex C1 Cannondale CAAD12 at The Cycle Show Bafant eBike Village – the bike that features in this month’s Cycling Plus review of performance e-bikes. At just 11.4 Kg, the CAAD12 fitted with Cytronex C1 is by far the lightest electric bicycle in the test (a massive 9Kg less than the Giant Fastroad E+) but achieved exactly the same range – 67 miles – with a battery which is less than half the capacity of the Giant bike (5Ah compared to 11.3Ah for the Giant). The Cytronex bike got there faster too.
So how do Cytronex achieve a range like this? The answer in a word is “efficiency”. In another recent review, eBike experts AtoB magazine recorded by far the lowest energy consumption they have every recorded with a Cytronex C1 powered bike – “our overall commuting power consumption of 5.5Wh/mile (including charger losses) is the lowest we’ve seen. Yes, ever, ever, ever.”
Cytronex C1 is a kit designed to be easy to fit to almost any bike, and is very simple to use with just one button, which turns assistance on and off and can be used to change between the 3 different power levels – see www.cytronex.com . For cyclists who want to cycle with their partner or join a faster group of riders, the Cytronex app allows them to
choose the exact power level required to ride together. Cytronex will add that precise power to the rider’s ownpower, and maintain it right through the speed range.
Cytronex Designer Mark Searles has just been Shortlisted for Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year in the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, and gained his 5th international patent.
